The California Brandy House Team Lead is responsible for overseeing agency staff and daily operations of the Napa, California Brandy House tasting room in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines and established policies and procedures. Aligns with Gallo brand team on overall direction and goals and develops and implements initiatives that increase consumer engagement and drive increased awareness and foot traffic into the Brandy House tasting room. Develops and builds relationships with internal sales teams and local trade and wine and spirits industry partners.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and ensures implementation of vision/strategy through strong leadership that is consistent with brand equities to achieve Experience objectives.
  • Develops and implements strategic initiatives to increase Brandy sales and conversion to include CRM signup and guest engagement.
  • Builds relationships for local promotion of CA Brandy House within Napa, partners with sales team to establish relationships with nearby hotels and concierges in order to increase traffic into the brandy house.
  • Prepares the CA Brandy House venue for daily opening and closing.
  • Promotes the sale of brandy and other retail items/merchandise consistent with brand essence.
  • Acts as informed resource for consumers regarding brandy making process, individual expressions, availability of products and brand intrinsics.
  • Describes brandy, brandy making techniques, and CA brandy history with expertise.
  • Understands and effectively communicates the brand messaging.
  • Handles routine purchasing transactions; such as operating digital POS system and accounting of daily sales.
  • Activates and oversees Brandy House special trade programming with Brand Ambassadors, and innovative guest experiences that support the brand essence.
  • Oversees all Brandy House programs, ensuring experiences are "best in industry" for each guest.
  • Manages workflow for all Brandy House activities, events and programming.
  • Works closely with brand and sales team members to organize and execute industry trade experiences.
  • Represents the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically.
  • Increases brandy sales and promotes engagement in the space with best in class customer service.
  • Provides leadership to attract, develop, and retain high quality experience support staff, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Provides coaching and feedback to agency regarding performance of support staff.
  • Conducts training, instruction and development of support staff.
  • Leads contingency planning to understand and comply with on-going changes in COVID safety protocol to align with state and local regulations and Gallo policies; adapts operating procedures as needed.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of hospitality, trade marketing, customer service or retail sales experience with an emphasis in spirits or wine; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 9 years of hospitality, trade marketing, customer service or retail sales experience with an emphasis in spirits or wine reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Supervisory experience to include ability to manage schedules and work well with support team members.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary and a flexible work schedule as required.
  • Required to have or obtain an up-to-date TIPS/ServSafe accreditation.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of hospitality, trade marketing, customer service or retail sales experience with an emphasis in spirits or wine; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 11 years of hospitality, trade marketing, customer service or retail sales experience with an emphasis in spirits or wine reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience to include ability to manage schedules and work well with support team members.
  • Experience working directly for a winery, distiller or in luxury bar/restaurant hospitality.
  • Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS) or other relevant certification.
  • Possess strong, pre-existing relationships with other tastemakers and decision makers in northern California/Napa area.
