Job Description                      

 

Department: Wet Glue

Job Title: Scheduler/Analyst/Buyer

Classification: Salaried and Full Time

Supervisory Personnel Functions: None

Location: Napa, CA

Reports To: Operations Manager

                                                    

Job Summary: This hybrid multi facet role is an exciting position in which the Scheduler/Analyst/Buyer gets to decide the most efficient way to run a production job while meeting customer expectations and demands. As the main connection between production and sales, this position needs to understand both sides of the operations business needs. Makes realistic commitment to customers while also encouraging production team members to improve current lead time/quality standards.


Scheduler Duties:

  • Maintain close relationships and open communication between other members of the team including production, prepress, planning, customer service, sales, and purchasing.
  • When schedule conflicts arise, the scheduler is responsible for communicating with other departments to help drive solutions.
  • Decide how to efficiently produce label orders with profitability, quality, and customer service in mind.
  • Review orders from the planning department to ensure they are planned effectively.
  • Make delivery commitments to sales team based on material availability and machine capacity. Delivering quality labels quickly to customers relies on strong scheduling and clear communication.
  • Plan jobs for the appropriate press technology in a timely manner.
  • Schedule planned work to achieve best Service outcome for Customer and Best performance and efficiency (O.T management) outcome for Multi-Color.
  • Assist in coordinating CTV’s with both Production and Services.
  • Coordinate external tooling with suppliers to align with best Service and performance outcomes.
  • Communicate schedule status and coordinate requirements needed to achieve on time delivery.
  • Promote and conduct high levels of communication both verbal and written between all departments.
  • Review conversion rates for production to pinpoint most successful and unsuccessful label runs. With the underperforming jobs, the scheduler encourages planners to reengineer the way a job is produced. 
  • With high performing jobs, the scheduler communicates the success to team managers and production workers.  

Analyst Duties:

  • Facilitate assigned projects by serving as a liaison between operations and support services departments, setting and communicating goals, and evaluating and refining results.
  • Collaborates with business staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by the information systems and technology.
  • Determines how changes to the project will affect the sheet fed business and systems.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides information to the operations regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs. 
  • Works with the Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction. 

Buyer Duties:

  •  Orders raw materials as needed and participates in the procurement process as directed by the Regional Purchasing Manager. 

Misc. Duties:

  • Part of the Napa MCC Sustainability Committee. As a committee member this individual will play an integral part in identifying sustainability problems, perform waste stream management, and contribute to green building practices and green procurement plans.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and management.
  •  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  •  Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.
  •  Ability to adapt to change.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or related field required.
  • No experience required for the right candidate.
