Job Description:
Design, integrate, and apply electrical and/or electronic
components for use in Trayer Engineering's switchgear products. Create cost effective, reliable switchgear designs
that are well suited for use in electrical power distribution systems. Design custom switchgear solutions to match customer
specifications through the selection and integration of electronic components, which may include the use of one or
more of: Current and Voltage Transformers, Protective Relays, Motor Controls, Power Supplies, Communication Equipment
(radios, modems, antennas, etc.), Programmable Controls, and Cable assemblies and Wire Harnesses. Prepare and
review drawings and information used and created by the Mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters to assist
in electronic assemblies and Bills of Material for orders. Generate and review drawing packets used and created by the
Electrical engineers, designers, and drafters to document logic, point to point wiring, and system interaction.
Provide technical support to Manufacturing team. Provide pre-sales information to Sales and Marketing Including:
Estimated Bill of Material, Design Lead Time, and/or written description of system operation. Adhere to established
design processes and procedures. Simplify product designs for improved manufacturability and cost reduction
without compromising product quality and function. Assist Sales and Marketing and Product Development staff with projects
to enhance existing and develop new product lines. Interface with the purchasing department and/or suppliers and
vendors in the modification and approval of component parts and assemblies. Generate Switchgear outline
drawings, schematics and Bills of Material. Create Setting flies and logic diagrams for the Protection/Automation
relays used on the Switchgear. Create Test plans and Witness Type testing at KEMA for new Switchgear products.
Support Mechanical Engineers during the Modelling of Products in Solid Works Software. Track projects for the
Engineering Department by following directions from the engineering manager. Work with Quality on inspection and
analysis of RMAs for defective units. Provide sales support for quotes against RFQs. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic
Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus five years of experience in the job offered or
