Job Description:
Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include but are
not limited to: works under the supervision of the registered nurse
in delivering safe and effective care to the patient during the
intra-operative period. Effectively interacts with patients and
health care team members, while maintaining the surgical department
standards. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and
operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be
able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Must
participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may
include the wearing of a respirator. Must wear required Personal
Protective Equipment. This is a non-union position. ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides the skills necessary for ensuring timely
interventions and treatments while maintaining patient comfort,
safety and personal care while under the direction, leadership and
supervision of the Registered Nurse. 2. Collects data and reports
all pertinent nursing care information to the RN. 3. Maintains
documentation standards with accurate, timely and complete
recording and reporting. 4. Maintains asepsis as necessary. 5.
Performs scrub duties and practices within the Scope of Practice.
6. Must take Call as assigned and participate in Emergency Call
Schedule. 7. Carries out the plan of care as it relates to the
patient's and family's emotional and educational needs,
communicates with patient and family in a clear open and
collaborative manner showing care and concern. 8. Observes
confidentiality in the OR Suite. 9. Attends in-services pertinent
to surgery. FTE: 1.0, 5X8s Qualifications Education: Graduate of
Accredited School or Military trained. Experience: At least one
year preferred. Licenses/Certificates: Current BLS Certification
Tech Surgery Certification through the National Center for
Competency Testing [NCCT] required within one year of hire/
transfer.
