Experience: Minimum three years of acute care experience required
License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: AHA BLS,
ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Graduate from an accredited school of
professional registered nursing. - Associate Degree or BSN
accepted. Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for
delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care. The RN utilizes
relevant nursing theories and a professional nursing practice model
to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all assigned
patients. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the
patient toward goals. A therapeutic professional relationship is
established with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to
promote, maintain, and restore health. Care is provided according
to the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial
needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values,
and expectations of excellence within the organization. Competency
is demonstrated by the ability to transfer scientific knowledge
into practical nursing action. The RN provides care consistent with
an interdisciplinary plan of care grounded in professional nursing
principles. Patient physical and psychosocial conditions are
assessed on an ongoing basis, leading to the formulation of nursing
diagnoses. Collaborative care plans are developed with the client
to ensure safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention.
Essential nursing skills are performed, and health treatments are
explained to patients and their families. Education on caring for
health needs is provided to the patient and family. The
effectiveness of the care plan is evaluated through ongoing
observation and communication. The RN demonstrates current
knowledge and safe use of medical equipment and medications. Tasks
are delegated to team members based on their legal scopes of
practice and preparation. The RN acts as a client advocate when
necessary to improve healthcare and ensure informed decisions.
Culturally competent and age-appropriate care is provided within
legal standards. Coordination of patient care activities involves
collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other health
professionals. Effective communication skills are utilized to
facilitate safe patient hand-offs. Nursing care is documented per
hospital policies. Information systems are employed to enhance
efficiency and productivity. The RN is accountable for meeting or
exceeding unit and organizational goals related to patient
satisfaction. Individual interactions contribute to a positive
patient care experience. The RN assists in resolving complaints to
achieve immediate resolutions when possible. Investigation of
complaints and provision of relevant information to management is
part of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are
essential. Physical demands of the job include lifting, bending,
pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting,
reaching, and fine motor skills. Completion of annual
organizational requirements for employment is required.
