Job Description:
Position Purpose
This position oversees a team of marketers to establish and achieve
long term company goals and objectives for assigned portfolio of
brands. To win in Delicato's market segments, this role acts as a
thought leader in Marketing, and across the organization, with the
ability to foster, mentor, and direct brand teams and
cross-functional support groups. This position will also drive the
holistic brand strategy and innovation plan for the portfolio,
while effectively and efficiently utilizing appropriate aspects of
the marketing mix to achieve short and long term brand-building
objectives and volume targets.
Functional Responsibility
- Oversees, directs, and manages departmental activities and team
performance
- Drives and models company culture and holds self, peers, and
direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company
culture through influential, personal behavior and actions
- Develops and implements clearly defined operational and
individual goals to develop employees, achieve productivity levels,
and to attain the company's strategic plan
- Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends,
and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance
and continually improve operations
- Executes departmental financial objectives by preparing
budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and
initiating corrective action
- Achieves departmental results to ensure the effective delivery
of the strategic plan
- Develops staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a
workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to
achieve goals and objectives
- Promotes and ensures a safe and healthy work environment for
all employees
- Leads the way and prepares departmental staff for success in a
continually changing environment
- Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking,
promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
- Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an
objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and
keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
- Ensures compliance and consistent application of company
policies, initiatives, and decisions
- Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in
the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality
feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee
performance, recognition, and deficiencies
Essential Duties
- Directs and implements the annual and 3 Year Strategic Plan to
align with and support the company's overarching strategic
imperatives and growth objectives
- Develops and oversees execution of both short and long term
strategic plans and recommendations for the Brand portfolio by
using syndicated data, and quantitative / qualitative consumer
trend analysis and insights
- Oversees creation and execution of break-through programs in
shoppers marketing, digital, e-commerce, Trade promotions and other
consumer focused tactics to build brand equity while
differentiating our products within the category
- Develops compelling consumer-insights driven brand blueprints
and unique selling propositions that easily translate into consumer
and trade communication strategies and activations
- Directs and executes insight-based innovations to position the
brands for both short-term and long-term success
- Advocates for the brand by serving as the brand marketing lead
and liaison between Sales, Winemaking, Supply Chain, Finance, and
Delicato Sr. Leadership
- Directs development of brand budgets to effectively and
efficiently achieve key brand objectives; ensures team is managing
Plan spend within budget while assessing ROI metrics for
optimization opportunities
- In conjunction with Finance Team, evaluates Brand P&Ls,
price/volume/mix analyses, Annual Plan variances, and corporate
finance issues impacting the balance sheet, keeping Sr. Leadership
apprised of key issues or opportunities
- Obtains and synthesizes data on the brand portfolio
cross-functionally (Consumer & Strategic Insights, Finance, Sales,
Production) to become brand and category subject matter expert
within Delicato; proactively identifies and anticipates emerging
trends in the marketplace
- Works closely across Delicato departments to optimize
forecasting, supplier management, wine/grape sourcing, and
production based on marketing/sales plans and to ensure optimal
supply
- Facilitates Brand Marketing Team collaboration with Marketing
Services & Sales organization to ensure all are aligned with annual
Brand objectives, strategies and annual execution plans
- Partners and aligns with the Delicato internal teams to deliver
standardized reporting, brand / SKU prioritization and/or
rationalization, resource allocation, and Trade initiatives

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- B.S. or B.A. required, MBA preferred
- Minimum 7 years manager level marketing experience leading
national brands in the US/International wine/alc bev industry
and/or related CPG marketing experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills with 3-5 years supervisory
experience, including the growth and development of staff
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Classical marketing and business / financial acumen as the
foundation for managing brands within a strategic
framework
- Ability to act as a brand leader to internal and external
constituents given breadth of industry knowledge and
experience
- Seasoned management of all aspects of the marketing mix
including pricing, promotion, packaging, products, channel,
consumer, creative, as well as competitive analyses and consumer
response
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, creative, and
organizational skills, demonstrated by the ability to make timely
and sound business decisions
- Considerable knowledge of table wine styles, winemaking
principles and three-tier distributor system
- Excellent written, verbal, and large group presentation
skills
- High energy with an entrepreneurial drive to succeed
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and takes
initiative
- A passion for wine and the industry
- Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and
Word

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is aExemptposition.The
pay range for this position is $141,277.44to $220,972.56.
Actual placement within range will be contingent upon a number of
factors, including but not limited to the candidate's
qualifications, education, experience, internal equity
andalignmentwith market data.
