Job Description Job Description Mechanic Helper Job Summary: A1 Transmission & Marine, INC. is actively seeking a dedicated and industrious individual to join our team. This role involves supporting our shop mechanics with various tasks and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate physical and mental aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and accountability. Moreover, candidates should display a willingness to learn new skills and knowledge in Diesel Engines, Diesel Generators, Marine Gears, and Powershift Transmissions found in Heavy Equipment & Heavy Marine. Key duties include assisting mechanics, performing general shop labor, and running part errands as instructed by the General Manager and Office Manager. A1 Transmission & Marine, INC. is an authorized dealer for John Deere Marine Power, Mitsubishi Marine Engines Northern Lights Generators, Kohler Generators, MAN Marine Engines, Twin Disc Transmissions, Scania Engines, DANA Spicer Off-Highway Systems, ZF Marine & Off-Highway Systems, and much more! Mechanic Helper Job Responsibilities and Duties: Assists mechanic in repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment Wash Parts and housings using various hand and air tools Carry tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas Assist in keeping work areas clean Oil and grease machines Clean parts and machines with various solvents and wiping rags to prepare for repairs Keep storage areas clean, organized, and maneuverable Mechanic Helper Skills and Qualifications: Valid Driver’s License required with Clean Driving Record Punctual, dependable, and have a sense of urgency Able to work in a team and produce quality work under tight deadlines Strong communication skills, including a sense of humor Take Initiative and willing to develop strong analytical skills Diligence, prioritization skill, and time management Adaptive learner with a positive attitude Attention to detail and an emphasis on cleanliness Resilient demeanor - You will be interacting with mechanics, fishermen, construction workers, and various industry personnel BENEFITS: Retirement Plan Holiday Time-Off/Pay Sick & Vacation Time Paid Training & Growth Opportunities Performance-based pay raise (up to 4x per year) $18-$25 Starting Pay Range Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
