Job Description:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
  • At least two years progressive management experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Trade school and/or College course work in related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Previous lead/supervisory skills required. Physical requirements:
    • Long hours sometimes required.
    • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
    • Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. General requirements:
      • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
      • Oversee the Lead Engineers, Engineering Administrative Associates, oversee the repairs, installations and upkeep of various buildings, offices, guest rooms, and other facilities are completed
      • Assist the Director of Engineering as assigned.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
      • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
      • Must be proficient through Microsoft products software such as Excel, Word, etc..
      • Dispatch new and open calls through Silverado Resort and Spa PMS software and ensure all calls have been completed.
      • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
      • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
      • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
      • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Silverado Resort Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
      • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
      • Comply with Silverado Resort Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
      • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
      • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
      • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
      • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas as instructed by Director of Engineering.
      • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
      • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
      • Perform other duties as requested by management.
      • May work varied shifts.
      • Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets, in a safe and acceptable state of repair.
      • To follow up, schedule, dispatch and repair all guest unit deficiencies. In-house Guest requests to be responded to no longer than 15 minutes.
      • Follow up and ensure that all work orders are dispatched, assigned, and completed.
      • Perform preventive maintenance and projects as determined by Director of Engineering.
      • To ensure all parts and supply inventories are accounted for, documented, and submitted to Director of Engineering before the last day of each month or when requested.
      • Ensure that the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
      • Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per hotel standards or authority having jurisdiction.
      • Review all Guest and Meeting Planner comments to ensure that problems are identified and corrected in a timely manner.
      • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
      • Ensure quality of product to the highest standards in guest unit and property repairs.
      • Assist as Director of Engineering deems necessary with special projects and renovations.
      • Repair and program hotel electronic lock system and achieve a trackable keyless system in place for all locked areas.
      • To ensure that support is present for engineering, Lead Engineer will ensure that others are performing parts pickups, store runs and any off site deliveries.
      • Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
      • Ensure that productivity is fully documented for yourself and team members to ensure maximum productivity is being achieved.
