recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) full-time vacancy
for the position of Road Maintenance Supervisor (Lake Berryessa
location) for the Roads Division, which is a part of the Public
Works Department at Napa County. The list established by this
recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time,
limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year. About
the Position & Department: Hourly Rate Range: $44.55 (Step 1) -
$53.09 (Step 5) 3.5% COLA Increase effective July 1, 2026 Benefits:

at Napa County is committed to maintaining and preserving the Napa
County road system so that it is safe, reliable, and accessible for
all users. The Roads Division is responsible for maintaining
approximately 450 miles of public roads, 79 bridges and 50 major
drainage structures within the unincorporated area of Napa County.
The division is active in other road-related safety efforts such as
vegetation management and maintenance of structures, drainage
facilities, guardrails, traffic signs, signals, and pavement
markings. The Road Maintenance Supervisor has significant
responsibility for the overall supervision and operation activities
of an assigned road maintenance crew in a designated geographic
area. The Road Maintenance Supervisor will have full supervisory
responsibilities over a crew of Road Maintenance Workers engaged in
various road and traffic maintenance activities and may have
responsibility for a road maintenance district. Position
Requirements: To qualify for this Road Maintenance Supervisor, an
individual must possess any combination of experience and education
that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A
desirable combination is: Experience: Two years of experience as a
Road Maintenance Lead worker in Napa County or eight years of
experience in road construction or road maintenance work, which
includes two years in a lead worker or supervisory capacity.
Education: Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to
assure the ability to read and write at the level required for
successful job performance. License or Certificate: Possession of a
valid California Class A driver's license with a tanker endorsement
and no air brake restriction. *Any license, certification,
registration, or appointment required for this position shall be
maintained (i.e., active and in good standing) at all times during
employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa
County, you must maintain such license, certification, or
registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
Special Requirements: Background Checks: The County may conduct a
background check and a reference check on candidates prior to
appointment to a position within this class. Independent Travel:
Incumbents are required to travel independently, for example, to
perform work at other work sites, to attend meetings with other
County employees, to attend meetings with community organizations,
etc. Hours of Work: I ncumbents may be required to work weekends,
holidays, irregular hours, on-call, and after normal business
hours. Drug and Alcohol Testing : Incumbents and candidates
applying for positions in this class may be subject to, depending
on job assignment, drug and alcohol testing as required under the
Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.
Testing includes post-accident and pre-employment, as well as
random and reasonable suspicion testing as required by law. The
