Job Description:
Walmart Inc., a leading global retailer, is seeking a Director
of Data Science to head our Data Science and AI department. This
role is centered at our corporate headquarters in Bentonville,
Arkansas, and plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our
data-driven decision-making capabilities across all business units.
The Director will spearhead initiatives to maximize the value
derived from data analytics and machine learning, aligning with our
strategic objectives to enhance operational efficiency and improve
customer experience. This leadership position will collaborate with
senior stakeholders to define and implement advanced analytic
approaches and data science strategies, ensuring Walmart remains at
the forefront of technology and market trends. Define and execute
data science strategies that support business goals. Lead, mentor,
and grow the data science team. Collaborate with various business
units to understand their data analysis needs and implement
solutions. Advance the development and deployment of machine
learning models and algorithms. Ensure data governance and
integrity across all data manipulations and analytics approaches.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data
science and AI. Expertise in machine learning, predictive
analytics, and statistical modeling. Strong leadership and team
management skills. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and other data
science tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Capability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
